Live From Summer's,hyd.

Hi guys, hope everybody are going well with their sip’s and enjoying their stay.

Well I’m writing this letter to share my experiences during my sip.

And the situation was like this:

We were having hand full of big value orders and the work was going fine, but suddenly three of the workers formed a union & did many unethical things and also forced the remaining workers to quit their jobs.

And at this situation my dad thought to increase their salaries and bring them back to work. But I insisted not to do so, because few weeds in a crop can destroy it entirely, and we were managing the shop floor with few workers.

It’s easy for me to say no, but it is really hard for my dad to manage the project without the right skilled workers. We also gave an advertisement in the newspaper of the vacancies but that also did not go well.

And the situation was becoming tense as the delivery date is approaching and pressure from the client was also building up and we also have a construction project going on………….

My dad was having sleepless nights because of these problems, I can empathize his feelings. I was thinking what all I can do with my experiences, And me pursuing my MBA, never ever came across a case study like this or a solution where I can find a relevant answer in any of the books, I barely remember the subject names, but this is reality. In reality life hits you pretty hard…........

And I was remembering how I and saad beg(and many others) used to stick the posters of PRAGATHI 2010 around midnight from 12:00 am to 5:00am in the morning. Carrying a bucket full of glue in the main roads of Harihar where trucks used to travel at high speeds and we use to take the glue with bear hands and apply it to the posters and stick them to the dividers and to make this situation more worse there was power cut in the midnight we used the flashlight from the cell phone and carried on our work, and I was getting all kinds of thoughts like what am I doing in the middle of the night having glue all over my clothes and how this adds value to me and stuff like that.

I said to myself don't give up, don’t expect any appreciation for this work, and all your hard work could vanish within few days, but do it for your satisfaction and for the batch.

So from this experience I thought If I did it for pragathi then why not for my company & came up with an idea and took 100 printouts of (wanted so and so) and did things little differently like surveyed what are the big companies having CNC machines in an industrial estate then I have placed the posters In the sensitive areas where the employees of those big companies could easily see while they were on the way to home, and most of them use public transit so I had stuck up posters in all those places.

After this, by god’s grace lot of people have poured in for the vacancies and my dad is filtering people for the right job profile…….and he is feeling good about it.

And we have also given part of the project in the form of subcontracting and in the market you will be facing all kinds of people, but the real talent comes when we convince them & get the work done without any delays…………….this remembers me of the cultural during pragathi how divya prabhu, samyukta, nishta what pains did they take In convincing the bongale people………

And how ankit gupta used to mesmerize the shopkeepers, be it ramaprabhu, for operations and for prospecting, promotions, kaushik, robin, adhitya, manoj pandey, ashish, chaitra, vishnu…….and I wish I could write the entire batch names for their tremendous hard work……

Every day or the other I remember each and every person in the campus as the situations I come across, be it the advertisements that seniors do in ananth ram sir’s class, be it making a movie like the creative mind of vinay thakur, vishnu and be it a game, when I play badminton I think of how sangram and piyush used to play these shots, how would they smash it………..i never missed those memories.

And believe me guys I don’t know how great Billgates, Ratan tata are and were their strategies. I observe common people in and around me, like my father he may not be having a MBA degree but the dedication he has, the hard work he does, the way he plans things and the work pressure he controls it’s mind blowing and today’s managers cannot stand for it.

Different people are having different skill sets right from a pot maker to an entrepreneur, it doesn’t depend on what work they do but it depend on how tactically they would do it. We all have an opportunity to learn the best of how others can do things.

I initially hesitated to write this letter, thinking that how would students react, how would they think about it……….but there is a saying if you want to praise anybody do it in public….and I also thought if not now then when I would express my feelings to the batch.

So this is what I learnt from pragathi and implemented it. It might be a small thing what I did but made a big difference so once again thank you one and all and for the entire batch………….miss u all.
