KPL – KIAMS PREMIER LEAGUE!

KIAMS sports have taken a new dimension with the launch of KPL - The KIAMS PREMIER LEAGUE based on the lines of Indian Premier League.

The KPL is the professional T 10 cricket league created and promoted by the KIAMS SPORTS Reps including Sports Coordinator Mr. Bhuti Sir backed by the dynamic Management and students of KIAMS. The T 10 league debuted in June 2010, with Three teams comprising of 10 players each including 1 icon player. The league will last for 21 days during which overall of 7 matches will be played. The KPL is basically structured on the franchise system based on the American system of hiring players. The draw was held to select the team owners. The Three teams include:

The Dementors owned by Ms. Anju , Ms. Sirisha and Ms. Samyukta with Mr.Vinay Thakur being the Icon player. The official jersey color of the team is "RED".

The Lycans owned by Ms. Ishneet, Ms. Kriti and Ms. Ritika with Mr. Piyush being the Icon Player. The official jersey color of the team is "BLACK"

The Storm Riders owned by Ms. Pavneet with Mr. Amulya being the Icon Player. The official jersey color of the team is "BLUE"

The team owners and the respective icon players selected the other 9 players of the team through open auction. Each team had to choose their entire team within Rs. 500. The bidding process was much tensed moment as all the team owners were looking to bid for the best player keeping in mind the money constraint. It was definitely the money game with highest level of business thinking involved.

Finally after the bidding process each team came up with the Marketing Campaign for their respective teams. The College walls, the ground fencing and all the empty spaces were flooded with the team posters in order to get maximum supporters for the teams.

The storm riders with their two big wins are leading the points table followed by Lycans with 1 win and Dementors are yet to open their account. This is definitely not the end of the game as the game has just begun. . .
