The Day KIAMS was Born!
The day KIAMS was born…. I wonder how was that day, was the sun bright in the sky or did it hide behind the thunderous clouds, was there a breeze that hugged its turns and corners or was there a beckoning silence that called forth. What can I say of all the things that would have happened that day! I may not have been present on that auspicious day but I know one thing for sure that I did feel every joy and every sense of belongingness that might have flown through the hearts of people who were present on that day and who had witnessed the birth of something that would touch the hearts of so many and would inspire them.
It was the auspicious 25th day of November 2010 that Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies celebrated its 20th Foundation Day. This day marks the beginning of the new era in management, this day marks the beginning of the modern day Channakya or we may say Channakya in the new avatar. This day highlights the history of KIAMS, each classroom whether it is LH1 or LH2 or the mighty triangle or the fun filled Rotunda speaks the history behind it! On this special day, the KIAMS remembers all its B’s, feels proud of their achievements, hence this day continues to bring back memories of joy and thrill.
This Year, the function began at 10:00hrs with invocation by Miss Aarthi Mohan of class 2011(Batch 12). The melodious voice of Aarthi ignited every nook and corner of the auditorium, thereby providing the great beginning for this special day. The chief guest for the function was Dr. S. Indumati, Vice Chancellor of Davangere University. At 10:05hrs the lamp was lighted by the Director Dr. Gopal Iyengar, Dy Director Air Cmde Krishna Shankar and the chief guest followed by a welcome address by the director. After that, Wg. Cdr A. Raghunath Vr. C took us back to 1990 and enlightened us with the great history behind this prestigious institute. At 10:15hrs Dr. Janaki Naik, Director KIAMS Pune, addressed the students through video conferencing. After this Dr. Indumati- Chief guest for the occasion addressed the students. Dr. Indumati delivered a wonderful speech with some great advices for the managers of tomorrow. On the occasion of Foundation Day, Mr.Yuvaraj was awarded MBA. The chief guest also appreciated Ms. Alka Agrawal, Topper in PGDM Class of 2011 with a CGPA of 3.82 (out of 4) and Mr. Sohom Bhattacharya, Topper in summer internship Project (A+ 98/100). After the award ceremony, the function continued with the seminars by some eminent personalities. There were seminars on “Work life Balance” by Dr. Moushumi Sengupta and “Essentials of Recruitment” by Dr. V. Lele through video conferencing. After the seminar Wg. Cdr. A. Raghunath presented mementos to the seminar speakers followed by a thanks giving speech by DD sir. Ms Jayalakshmi D/o Dr Gopi sang the Kirloskar song. At 13:00hrs the traditional Foundation day lunch was served in the triangle. With this the function officially came to an end and the day continued to experience the unfelt memories and the Love untold at KIAMS, for KIAMS, Of KIAMS!!
