HOLI AT KIAMS!!

There always was something special about every festival celebrated at kiams. Whether it was id, onam, guru parab or in that case the valentine’s day. There was something in air about every festival from atleast a day before the actual event.
Holi was not much different from other, although speaking frankly that something was missing in air a day before like it was in the previous occasions. I could relate this anomaly to a few facts, which I list down below:-
1.     The main reason being people were in sort of dazy situation after scraping off six examinations in 3 days, add to it the condition of many like me, who were completing their assignments till the last minute before exams.
2.     A few had plans of the day being celebrated as an N.I.D., which could be utilised to catch up with the much needed sleep.
3.     Many Holi fans were disappointed after seeing the notice about the timings for playing holi as10 am to 12 noon as stated by the city police and blah blah.
With these gloomy points in mind I had\\ plans of sleeping till late and then wake up\\ for the lunch followed by the India Vs west Indies cricket match. The plan seemed unethical to me too as the  smell test seemed to be violated here because if my siblings would come to know that I didn’t play holi this time, God I can’t imagine such a shameful situation!!
Anyways the shattering of my plans began at sharp 10 in the morning because there was a loud noise of door banging. I had no other option but to open the doors or else Mahesh sir(The Head Admin.) would make me get it repaired from my own pocket (He gave me a warning regarding this earlier). Anyways getting back to the door bang, I quickly got up half sleepy and found a few of our batchmates waiting with colours in their hands. I was filled with mixed reaction of anger and happiness. The temporary anger because of my disturbed sleep and the happiness because hopefully smell test won’t be unethical now. Anyways before I could think of anything I was all red. And yellow and donno what. There were even some catchy fluorescent colours,  which was giving a flaour of Tollywood in holi celebrations. Within 5 minutes everybody was out of their beds and collected at our customised holi dip place. There I could see our very own operations guy anup along with manu doing the operations part of the holy dip spot. This customised bath was a pool of mud and water!!
Guys today the managers were lost between the flowing gulaal and the mud bath where every person got the chance to show how down to earth they are(literally;-). The future managers were singing and dancing on  holi songs sung by our hostel singer anup who was messing up with the lyrics wittifully.
Soon girls of KIAMS joined the celebration too. The girls came up all colourful in gulaal smeared faces, and then we greeted and wished each other. The spirit was all in the air and to everybody’s amazement, the delicate darlings were the most into the mood of the festivity. They got down to show the guys that they were no less in messing it all on holi. So the girls too took the holy dip, and were all muddy and dirty and  donno what( I am short of adjectives).
After the extended holi celebrations, we all enjoyed the India Vs west indies cricket match in LH-1 and unexpected things happened there too. India made a low score and still won the match and Munaf Patel actually fielded and took a catch too!!
