when all these colors combine its HOLI !!
Colorful Holi or was it a Muddy Holi? We would say it was a combination of both.Yes, March 9th 2012, which was the festival of colors, was
celebrated with great enthusiasm at KIAMS.
The excitement could be felt among the students from the previous day
itself as everybody was making plans on whom to target with colours. On March 8th
the “Holika Dahan” Puja done by our very own Dr.Gopal Iyengar and all other
faculty members.The Holi celebration
was witnessed that very evening. Random clicking of pics, splattering of colors
made the evening an enjoyable one, and this was followed by a delectable
dinner.
Holika Dahan |
All the students were really excited for
the main Holi celebrations the next day.
The next day Holi celebration was just
unforgettable. All the students gathered on the ground with fluorescent colors.
Each and every guy was waiting with colors in their hands and as soon as anyone
stepped onto the ground he or she was smeared with the colors. Every student's face was as colorful as a rainbow.Gulaal was flying everywhere and the campus-ground was as bright as any kindergarten's colorbook!
The playing of the “Desi Holi songs”
created the atmosphere in the campus. Even our own Dr.Gopal Iyengar joined to
play Holi with the students which shows his enthusiasm & spirit to
participate in every festival. He also gave his blessings students & became
a part of the celebration.
Initially, it was a colorful Holi but as soon as the colors got over, it was nothing but the very
obvious muddy Holi!! Now, it was no more of splattering of colors, rather it
was the splattering of mud. Dipping of the students in the pool of muddy water
was not just once or twice, it was for innumerable times. We were covered with colors, mud, twigs etc from head to toe!! first only the guys were diving into the muddy grounds but since girls are no more the delicate darlings they also took their turns! gradually the whole campus was MUDDY-LICIOUS
Few of them were literally shouting,
Nahi nahi, I have already been dipped 5 times, no more please, but who cares to
listen? But yes, this muddy Holi raised the excitement level for most of
the students and the celebration continued till 1pm. Even the students who were
trying to escape from this Holi celebration were ultimately lost between the
flowing colors and the muddy water. Indeed it was an Eco-friendly Holi!!
After the Holi celebration got over the
only words which could be heard from every student’s mouth was: “this Holi
celebration can never be forgotten, it was indeed the best experience we have
ever had!” The experience made us forget even the aftermath of the celebration (the
fatigue & pain in limbs). This Holi was an Eco-friendly and nature played a
major role!
Updating of status on Facebook followed by
uploading of pictures gave an end to this Holi Celebration.
